When our Give Hope Together rescue team first spotted Snowy, he wasn’t just wandering the streets…
He was surviving them.
Dirty, weak, and trembling, Snowy had no fur left on one of his legs — just a thin, exposed piece of bone where a warm, fluffy paw should have been. Every step he took made our hearts ache. It wasn’t just pain he was carrying… it was exhaustion. Defeat. Loneliness.
But his eyes told the rest of the story.
One eye was swollen shut, badly infected — raw, red, and clearly agonizing. The other eye, though tired and clouded, still held a flicker of hope.
He Wanted to Trust Us — But Fear Got There First
When we gently offered him food, he didn’t rush toward it like most starving strays would.
Instead, Snowy sniffed it carefully, backing away in fear, as if expecting it to be taken away… or worse, used to hurt him.
It broke us.
